ISHALC established the "Human Security Award" in 2013 at the World Forum on the UN Millennium Development Goals, where it granted the awards "Youth against Crack", "International Year of Water Cooperation" and "Mediation House of the São Paulo Metropolitan Guard".
At the International Forum – Human Security in Latin America, in 2018, the "International Human Security Award" went to Professor Edmundo Oliveira, author of "The Universe of Human Security"; to Professor Elias Carranza, for 45 years of service to ILANUD; and to Professor Yukio Takasu, Special Adviser on Human Security to the UN Secretary-General, as well as to the Águia Air Rescue Group of the São Paulo Military Police.
On 19 November 2018 the award was presented to UN Secretary-General António Guterres for his 10 years leading the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. In 2019, at the COPLAD General Assembly, it was granted to Kerry Kennedy, president of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights foundation. On 17 March 2020, at the opening of the ISHALC chancellery, the "Regional Human Security Awards" went to war correspondent Franz Vacek, to the Carrefour hypermarket chain and to the Women Health Fair run by the government of Bahia.
